    Cannot install any updates after re-installing XP due to the Windows update error 0x80240036. Never had this problem before. Have re-installed many times on my 2006 model XPS-410. I have made 4 attempts to re-install and this occurs each time. I believe it isn’t installing the components necessary for Windows Update to function. Don’t know what to do next and now I will follow your solutions to go now.
