You are not alone in the world to be bothered by this troublesome computer problem as the computer will eventually become slow as time passes. The article here will tell you what makes computer freezes and how to fix computer freeze problem effectively.

fix computer freeze

First of all, you should know that shortage of RAM is one main causes of computer freeze problem. Now lots of software or programs are developed to be much more functionality-rich and eat more RAM than ever before. Running too many resource-hungry programs at the same time will be a great burden to RAM and when there is not enough RAM to load all these programs, your computer will freeze up unexpectedly.

So, if your RAM is lower than 1 G, I highly suggest that you can upgrade it to 2 G at least or higher. If you already have more than 2 G but still get the computer freeze problem frequently, do not run many programs at one time and you should disable some unneeded startup items to prevent PC freezing at system starts. To do this, you can simply go to Start, Run, type “msconfig” in the search box and press Enter to go; then disable the unneeded ones within the “Startup” tab. By the way, it is recommended that you can regularly delete temporary files to free up more available disk space. This also helps to prevent computer freeze problem.

Secondly, virus infection is one another cause for computer freeze problem. Viruses or other malware are notoriously known for eating up system resources to make the computer run desperately slowly or bring in frequent unexpected computer freezing. So do remember to install a wonderful antispyware antivirus program to detect and remove PC threats from your computer regularly. By the way, it is highly recommended that you can let your antivirus program running in the background to block and delete threats at any time.

Thirdly, sometimes the computer freeze problem can also be caused by problem system – Registry errors! Registry is the database of the Windows-based operating system to store all system data and settings. All of these data and settings are automatically saved as registry keys and entries as you install programs/add files to the computer to ensure their proper running. However, overtime, the Windows registry will be full of corrupted & invalid keys and entries to results in various computer problems like system slowdown, computer freezes, computer blue screen and even system crash. So to make the computer always run pleasantly without problems, it is better that you can fix the registry at least twice a week either manually or automatically with a registry cleaning product.

To sum, though there are still some other causes and solutions for computer freeze problem, above are the most common ones. By ensuring a virus-clean and error-free system, I think you can always enjoy a happy computer life without various errors.
